Skyrim DLC: Dawnguard Review

Yes I know, this DLC came out before, but there was nothing new and exciting to write about, so I'm deciding to write on Dawnguard.

Graphics: 9
Many people praise Skyrim's environment, and so do I. It is really nice and it's pretty cool seeing the new Dawnguard castle, which is a very nice and detailed place. I used to think the graphics were top notch for this game, but then I saw an HD texture mod on PC that made me rethink what I thought of Skyrim's graphics. Sadly I play on the Xbox360, so no cool mods for me :(

Sound: 10
Music is still epic and awesome. the main menu theme is still amazing and brings chills down my spine ocasionally. No new soundtrack for this expansion pack, but it didn't need one. Voice acting is good too.

Gameplay: 9
I'm going to give it a nine here cause the new gameplay elements were not as amazing or useful as I thought they would be. Being able to finally craft arrows is awesome, and the new dragon weapons are the best you can find. Unfortunately, horse combat is not very fun (I mean, who even uses horses anyway?), and I never found myself using the crossbow on a consistent basis.

Overall: 9.5
This expansion added about 5 more hours to my 90 hours of original Skyrim. I have not been one of those people who goes back to play Skyrim, mainly because I had all the achievements. With the new DLC, I want to finish and get all the gamerscore but I don't feel like it, the game has somewhat gotten boring to me after finishing a lot of it.

For people who want to know if it is worth it. Yes. If you really enjoyed Skyrim, you should definitely be getting it, but for $20 it is too pricey. If you are just an average Skyrim player who wants to play the DLC for fun and the storyline, and most probably will not play after beating it, wait until a sale and a pricedrop for this expansion.
